John Marvel is an assistant professor in the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University. He received a Ph.D. in public administration from American University in 2012 and a B.A. in economics from Amherst College in 2003. His research, which mixes experimental and non-experimental methods, focuses on citizen evaluations of government performance, work motivation, and human resource management. His work has appeared in the Journal of Public Administration Research & Theory, Public Administration Review, and a number of other journals.
