Blair Read is currently a Ph.D. candidate in political science at MIT, where her research focuses on the politics of private service delivery with an application to education policy in the Global South. Her dissertation examines the formation and expansion of public service sectors, focusing on politician decisions to outsource education to private providers in India. Other areas of research include comparative political behavior, and survey design and measurement. At MIT, she is a Graduate Research Fellow with MIT GOV/LAB and a Graduate Research Assistant with Harvard’s Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute.
